THE WORLD BEHIND THE DRESS

RESEARCH

For each of our collections we create a story. Our muse can be a book, a music, an exhibition, anything that surrounds us can inspire us. History, art and science are our main sources, the main concepts that fuel-up our inspiration.

SKETCH

Our creative process begins with sketching. Some of the new ideas are drawn on paper, some others are sketched directly over a mannequin.

MAKING THE PATTERNS

The drawing of patterns used to reach the final prototype sometimes becomes part of our creative process itself. GUIGOU focuses on experimental molding and iterating from base patterns. This usually gets us to surprising results.

PROTOTYPES OR TOILES

The final step before reaching the final prototype is working over “toiles”, sometimes with test fabrics such as cotton, and sometimes even using the final fabric. Being detail-oriented this requires several micro adjustments and corrections. During this step a single millimeter can make a great difference.

FABRIC OR TOILES

For each of our collections we design several textures and we carefully hand-pick the fabrics to use. Our goal is to be able to tell the proper story that flows in harmony with a strong foundation in quality.

FINAL ASSEMBLY

Only once all the required resources are available, and having consciously followed every step of the creative process, do we create the final prototype that can be presented to the public and exhibited in fashion shows and runways.
